Based on my experience as a real estate professional the answer is not the same for everyone. There are several factors that you should take into consideration when trying to determine if you should continue renting or is it time to consider buying a home. There are validating pros and cons of both. However one thing is pretty certain; as an independent adult the cost of shelter is an expense that will be most likely be ongoing and not likely to decrease. The payment for housing that you make each month is probably going to a mortgage payment. The question is whose mortgage? Each month your housing expense is paying your own mortgage or your landlord’s mortgage.
